So you ran that half marathon and you earned a really cool looking medal. But now what? You already shared a picture of it on Instagram and Facebook, so does it just go in a drawer or sit on a shelf to collect dust?
Lets pull all those gorgeously earned medals back out and make something of them! For this…I give you my Pinterest finds:
TURN THEM INTO A WIND CHIME
How unique is that! I had never seen this before but now I am totally intrigued. I also kind of wonder if it actually sounds beautiful or if it’s kind of a yucky sound haha! Worth a try right? If you want to learn more about this one head on over to The Run Commuter, and talk to Frank.
WRAP THEM AROUND WOOD
This was pinned by a man with the name David Lawes. He created his own medal display that solves the issue of swinging medals clanging together. Plus, as a bonus…there is now a spot for my Tough Mudder headbands!
STICK THEM IN A GLASS JAR
This one was found on Rebecca Paul’s Pinterest…I have no idea if she was the original person to have posted this picture, but she is as far back as I could trace it, so she’s getting the credit today.
I like this one…I think it makes for a good nightstand decoration or a coffee table centerpiece.
HANG THEM FROM WOODEN LETTERS
This one was found courtesy of Billie Jean Strader. I like this one because you can choose what you spell out; whether that is “RUNNING” or “BADASS” or whatever. Fun decor for a game room, bedroom, or office.
MAKE A SHADOW BOX
Everyday Originals created a really cute shadowbox that showcases a bunch of things from an important race. I think this would be fun to do with a first marathon.
